Transform the SFR box NB6 into a simple Switch behind the Livebox

Hello, everything is in the question. As a cost-saving measure, I would like to transform the SFR box NB6 into a simple switch. This box is connected via RJ45 to a Livebox. I tried connecting it to the LAN-WAN port and LAN 1 port without success.

I don’t know if it’s possible to do this with the SFR box; I assume there must be some commercial security measures in place?

Best regards,

Pierre

Hello,

No, no commercial security,

However, you need to configure the NB6 to disable the DHCP server so that it doesn’t compete with the one from the Livebox.

Access point or switch, it’s the same, except there’s more to configure on an access point (nothing for switch mode apart from, of course, disabling DHCP).

And there you go, voilà ....

But damn, those line spacings are so annoying!!

Hello.

A used 8-port Netgear switch is priced at €15 (you divide the price by 2). It's the kind of equipment that lasts forever, so to make life easier...

On the other hand,

if I remember correctly, it seems to me that on the nb6, the LAN configuration is on a hidden page that is not accessible from the main page.

see http://192.168.1.1/network/lan

And there you go ....

But dear me, the line spacing is such a pain!!
