Hello, I received this message from the post office; what does it mean: <Due to an addressing issue, your package has been redirected to the distribution center serving your address.>

good evening
if you are really expecting a package, it means that your package did not arrive at the correct distribution center (post office) and that it has been redirected to your post office, so you will need to wait a bit longer than expected.
I say "if you are really expecting a package" because it could be a scam to extort money from you by asking you to pay fake shipping fees or something similar.
so be careful if someone asks you to click on a link in the message; make sure to check the link before clicking on it.
best regards
on a computer, if it doesn't fit, we don't force it.

Hello,
it often simply means that the mailman/delivery person was unable or unwilling to deliver to you and that the package was returned to the depot.
this happened to me quite regularly when I lived in the middle of nowhere at the end of a country road in Île-de-France and the delivery person considered it a hassle to go there. -
Actually, I also see that my package is being redirected and I don't understand what that means. Do you think my package will be lost or not?
