2 separate lines for the same address?

Hello,

Hello, I live in a house with land. I am with Free. At the back of the property, I am building a studio (which I would like to rent out to pay for our son's studies).

I have pulled a conduit for fiber optic to the fence facing the street. The problem is that when I ask Free to install a line, they refuse, saying that I already have one and that I am not entitled to two separate lines. Do you think there could be another solution? Free tells me that my studio needs to be registered as independent.

Hello.

Free or any other operator cannot currently provide you with a second line, but nothing prevents you from taking a second subscription on the same fiber line as seen on this page, paragraph Can you have 2 fiber connections for the same home?

On the other hand, I wonder why they market 2 or 4 fiber PTOs?

Still, no one has prohibited having multiple fibers in the same housing.

Hello,

it's usually possible to have multiple connections at the same address, it's not prohibited, thankfully, but depending on the available capacity with the infrastructure operator, the one managing the fiber in the street, it might be impossible if it's planned too tightly in relation to the number of housing units.

Can't you create a secondary address?

And there you go, there it is ....

But misery, those line breaks are so annoying !!

No, but I guess we need to check with the town hall.

Information obtained: "You must absolutely have a second telephone line and have two box subscriptions, which means paying for two offers at the same time."

I am with Free: but if the tenant does not want to be with Free, while I would have requested a second subscription from Free, what do I do? Do you have any ideas?

Well, you cancel Free for the second subscription...

in principle, it's without commitment

or better, he takes another subscription wherever he wants, just by providing the PTO reference, Free will be automatically canceled by the other ISP.

Do you know how to create a secondary address?

Check with your town hall, but be careful to ask them what it changes regarding local taxes, such as garbage collection. The simplest option would be to take a second internet subscription on the same line.

For administrative and real estate questions, you can also ask a question on this forum:

In your first message, you mentioned that you requested a second line from Free, so in any case, he would have been with Free. Moreover, if it's you who takes the subscription in your name and that subscription is included in the rent, he will have no choice but to take it.
