Hello, I can't open Chrome on my PC because of an incorrect side-by-side configuration. I've figured out that the issue is that Chrome appears as a Windows 8 version in the control panel while I'm on Windows 10. I've tried to uninstall or repair it, but it's impossible. I tried to reinstall it, and of course, I get a message saying that I already have it. And since I'm not good with computers, I'm stuck. I really need help. Thank you in advance.

Hello.

Not sure it's an infection, first download this software, open it and click on Reset Google Chrome, wait for the reset to complete and see if it improves.

Hello,

Chrome is working again, maybe because I tried reinstalling it (unsuccessfully), but I'm afraid that when I turn my computer back on, it will disappear again. So, I won't know if the software fixed the issue or not. Plus, I didn't "reset Chrome," I "installed Chrome."

Hello,

I looked but I don't understand anything, I'm so bad that it's way too professional for me. Everything he says to do, I'm incapable of. Thanks anyway. That's really nice. Have a great day!

Hello

I'm providing you with the explanation from Google and what needs to be done.

But I also request that the discussion be moved to the virus/security forum so that a CCM-certified specialist can help you with external software. You will follow exactly what they tell you to do; in reality, it's them who will disinfect the PC and uninstall Chrome, you'll only have copy/paste tasks to do. They have a lot of experience in helping on forums. Good luck.

Hello,

For now, the discussion stays here, as it is not at all obvious that it is a virus issue, as you suggested.

However, I am not deleting your report so that it can be seen by security specialists.

Hello everyone,

I just started my PC and oh miracle of technology, Chrome is working. I saw in the Windows settings that it was listed with yesterday's date, so when I downloaded it, apparently it worked despite the error message telling me that I already had it. Thank you for taking the time to help me, it's very nice of you. I wish you all a good day and thanks again to you @Panth33ra StatutMembre, @bazfile StatutModérateur, Contributeur sécurité, @palemoon, and @Pierr10 StatutModérateur.
