I can't open Google Chrome... Solved

Question

Hello everyone,

Since last night I haven't been able to open Google Chrome...

When I clicked on it, the hourglass appeared and disappeared without anything opening! So, I went to the Control Panel on my PC and uninstalled Google Chrome. Then, I went to download it again (from Internet Explorer).
I tried to open it and now I receive this message: "Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?" (and this happens every time) so I click YES. A page of a "Blank" tab opens, the page is gray and in the URL there is a strange address:

https://accounts.google.com/ServiceLoginservice=chromiumsync&sarp=1&rm=hide&continue=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2Fintl%2Ffr%2Fchrome%2Fblank.html%3Fsource%3D0

So there you go, I don't know what to do to be able to open Google Chrome...

Hello,

you can always do this:

1) Uninstall Google Chrome
2) Download Ccleaner and use it with Cleaner and Registry: https://www.commentcamarche.net/telecharger/utilitaires/5647-ccleaner/ delete and repair what it finds
3) Download Malwarebytes and update it (do this every time it is used), it is free. https://www.commentcamarche.net/telecharger/securite/14361-malwarebytes-anti-malware/ Run it in its free version and delete anything it may find as well.
4) Restart the PC.

Hello,

If your user profile stored in the Google browser is corrupted, you can create another one to replace the defective one.

To do this:

Close Google Chrome

Use the keyboard shortcut Windows + R

Enter the path to the appropriate directory in the address bar:

For Windows XP:

%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\

Click OK

For Windows Vista/Windows 7/Windows 8:

%LOCALAPPDATA%\Google\Chrome\User Data\

Click OK

In the directory window that opens, locate the folder titled "Default" and rename it to "Backup default".

Close the windows.

Then open Google Chrome.

A new "Default" folder is automatically created when the browser opens.

To recover your bookmarks:

Copy the file "Bookmarks.bak" from the "Backup default" folder and paste it into the new "Default" folder.

Once the file is moved, rename it to "Bookmarks" to complete the transfer.

Recover your Favicons and passwords:

In the backup default folder, you have the Favicons and Login Data files.

Also place them into the new Default folder.

Close Google Chrome

Use the keyboard shortcut Windows + R

Click OK

In the directory window that opens, locate the folder titled "Default"

Open it and move the files Bookmarks.bak, Favicons and Login Data to your desktop.

Uninstall Chrome using revo uninstaller

*Launch Revo Uninstaller

*Let it load...

*Select the software to uninstall, then right-click "Uninstall"

*A window opens, select "Advanced" mode, then click "Next"

*Let it load...

*A window opens with the standard uninstaller for the selected software.

*Continue uninstalling as you would with a standard uninstallation.

*Once the standard uninstallation is complete, click "Next"

*The software scans for leftovers, let it load...

*If leftover registry items are found:

*Click "Select All", then "Delete".

*Then click "Next".

*If leftover files and directories are found:

*Click "Select All", then "Delete".

*Then click "Next".

NOTE: If items can only be deleted after a reboot, restart the PC.

Clean up with ccleaner (registry as well)

Restart the PC.

Put the files Bookmarks.bak, Favicons and Login Data back inside

Close the windows and launch Google Chrome.
