Hello,

on my laptop, my storage space is starting to fill up. I need your help because I'm really not a pro in computer software!

How can I tell which applications are useful to me or not? I have a few installed and I don't know if they are useful for me or not.

In the downloads folder: can we empty it, delete everything in one go knowing that what interested me has been saved in documents or images? Are there any folders that should not be deleted?

Thank you for your help.

Hello, everything in downloads can be deleted, and regarding storage, you need to check your documents, photos, and videos to store on an external hard drive.

    Hello everyone,
"In the downloads folder:": this folder is just a journal, a history, that allows you to see what you have downloaded. Nothing more. So yes, you can delete everything. But these are just file names, not the files themselves, so it doesn't actually take up space.

"How to know which applications are useful or not": what do you mean by "applications"?
Stuff like "Adobe", for example? It's useful for viewing .pdf files (in this specific case).

If you spot some to delete, install Revo uninstaller; it uninstalls applications very cleanly, bearing in mind that an application installs many little things all over the computer, in the registry among other places.
Don't delete anything if you don't know what it's for.

And as MFC17250 says, buy an external hard drive so you have backups while freeing up space on your computer.

    Best regards!
