Which cable is positive and negative? (usb2 cable)

Hello,

In order to fiddle with the charging of my puff (electronic cigarette), I need to connect 2 wires from my usb2 cable, the positive and the negative. Theoretically, I should be using the red and black wires, but once stripped, instead of having 2 wires, my cable has 4. One red, one green, one white, and one blue. So I'm a bit lost, and I don’t want to mess it up, otherwise the battery might overheat/explode.

Could someone help me out? Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
You need to connect the Red & BLACK or (blue) apparently for you ...
The White and Green > it's for data
The Red & Black (blue) > it's for power

      Alright, thanks H0enheim!

So, you're sure the blue represents the black? Don't want the battery to explode :p

    Hello,

    In principle, it should be:

    red: +5 V

    blue: ground

    green: Data +

    white: Data -

but it would be wise to check with a voltmeter.

I would say red is positive, black is negative, white for positive data, and green for negative data.

Hello Thev, I see, I'm not at all knowledgeable, so red is the positive, and blue would be the negative? (which replaces the black?)

    thanks

    Hello everyone,
"In order to tinker with the charging of my puff" : And why this operation? I admit I don't understand the question.
Everything is escaping me in this story.
I have a USB - power adapter for that.
    Best regards!

    Hello,

There are USB cables with 2 wires (for charging)

    For example:

Thank you, I didn’t know about this, but I don’t really see the point???
I use a USB cable on my Free player to charge my vape.
      Best regards!

It's a disposable puff, it's not meant to be recharged. Except in my case, there's 70% of the liquid that I haven't used, it's just the battery (supposedly non-rechargeable) that is burnt out. By dismantling it and connecting the black and red wire, you can recharge it in 2/3 minutes.

    Hello ceilan12,
Are you sure about what you are saying?
Recharging a battery that is not designed for it is guaranteed to explode!!! It's like trying to recharge a regular battery. Very dangerous!
    Best regards!

Yes, there are plenty of videos online about this that use this trick, which is where my original question about the cables comes from. With the right cables (black and red) there are no issues, otherwise, it's like any other battery, indeed, with the wrong cable, there's a risk of explosion... well in the end, I didn't do it, I ordered 2 other disposable puffs and I'm going to try to finish them before the battery runs out this time!

    Hello ceilan12,
"I ordered 2 more disposable puffs" : What’s the point?
Are you just wasting money here?
I have 2 that I didn't pay much for, so I alternate them. When one battery runs out, I charge it with its cable on my Free box (or computer).

But you should know that you have to change the coils regularly (every 2/3 months) no matter the quality.
    Best regards!

It's not the subject, but I already have 2 e-cigs. I tried a puff on vacation and I really liked the taste for vaping without nicotine. I ordered the same liquid for my e-cig, but the sensation is not the same, so I occasionally use a disposable puff without nicotine to vape on the side.

But the nicotine dose can be adjusted (16, 12, 9, etc...).

Yes, I know... and as mentioned earlier, with the same liquid/resistance, the taste and sensation are not the same (in fact, some have pointed this out in the reviews regarding the liquid). Even though the name is exactly the same as the flavor they use, it’s different.
