Hello everyone

I have an Epson XP 2100 printer and I'm getting the following message: "An Epson scan2 error has occurred and Epson scan2 will close. Check the scanner status and try again E425-B100."

After trying several times, nothing happens. THE SCANNER IS NOT RESPONDING ANYMORE

Do you have a solution?

Thank you in advance

Best regards

    Hello "contrariness"

Thank you for responding to my request so quickly.

To answer your question, YES, THE SCANS WORK.

I tried to start the scanner with no result (still the same message).

Do you have another procedure to suggest to me?

Looking forward to hearing from you

Best regards and have a nice Sunday

    Hello conrariness,

Thank you for your suggestion, unfortunately I was unable to unlock the scanner.

I'm not very good at English and even less so at IT.

    My path is C >window>Twain_32 and the files I find are escnod + escnod2 + Wiatwain.ds.

Can you help me continue or do you have another solution?

    Looking forward to your response.

    Thanks in advance.

Okay. Basically, the link offers to reset the driver via Windows updates...
To do this, you need to open the device manager (click on the "system" icon in the control panel, then "Device Manager"..)
But this depends on the version of Windows you have... Before, scanners used a Twain driver and since W8 and later, it's Windows that kind of does everything..
So, under W10 or W11, you need to go through the Windows update.

You can also try reinstalling the printer..

On the Epson site, you have the latest versions of the software:
In "Recommended for you," there's a utility that installs everything you need
And in "Other Software," you have a tool to help you scan...

    Hello ....

Have you tried to completely and properly uninstall this printer, then do a clean installation to check if the problem is still there?

What is the operating system of your PC? ► Windows ...which one?

    Cheers

    See you

    Hello jmarion3,

Thank you for the quick response.

    I am using Windows 10.

No, I haven't uninstalled the printer, as my PC doesn't have a CD drive; I have an ASUS VivoBook, and not being a computer specialist, will the reinstallation be possible without a CD?

    Thank you in advance.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Best regards.

    Hello ....

I’m going to encroach on Contrariness’s territory, which I don't particularly like doing and I salute in passing, but I will proceed nonetheless to respond to your message...

To ensure everything is properly uninstalled, I suggest you uninstall your printer using the Revo Uninstaller tool ► Here  (If you’re not familiar with this tool, take the time to read about how it works at the link)

Once all files and folders related to this printer have been deleted, restart the PC and perform a new installation via the Epson website ► Here  (for your information, this is the same link that Contrariness mentioned above) ► You need to download Epson Product Setup (v1.1), which Epson says in comments contains everything the printer needs to operate ... Scan function included

For your information, the printer needs to be powered on, the USB cable connecting it to the PC unplugged, and only reconnect it when prompted by the system during installation ....

In principle, if all goes well, you should regain normal use of this printer

See you if there are problems

    Regards
