Orange Emails

Hello everyone. To create a legal folder, I would like to save an Orange email folder containing around forty emails. I have downloaded the famous Thunderbird software, but I can't find the process that would lead me to this backup on a USB key. Thank you in advance for your responses. Best regards

Hello
Start by creating the folder that will hold your backup.
In Thunderbird, open the Orange mail folder that contains the emails you want to back up.
Select all the emails.
Right-click on the selection and choose Save As... Indicate the destination folder you created. You will find .eml files in the folder which are exact copies of the emails. These eml files can be opened by any email software.
What is well conceived is clearly expressed,
And the words to say it come easily.

Hello,
Once Thunderbird is installed and the Orange account settings are provided, if I chose IMAP, the emails will be synchronized with those on the server, for archiving, that’s not what I want: I choose POP3.
After downloading these emails, I make a backup copy by simply copying the entire Profiles folder to a USB drive, but then I will only have readability if I re-import this profile into Thunderbird in case of issues.

If I want a readable individual copy of each of these emails, I must select each one and export it in eml format.-

However, if it is an isolated email in eml format, this format normally automatically contains the attachments, at least if the left click on eml or the open with action is linked to an email software (Thunderbird, Outlook, default Mail application...).
If I right-click and read it in plain text format (Notepad), I of course no longer have any attachments or any enhancements. -

No.
In an email software, there are several emails listed; if I want a specific one, I position myself on the email in question and do as I mentioned (save as, which gives me an eml for that single file). If I want several non-contiguous ones in a single operation, I haven't tested it, but I should be able to hold down the CTRL key and then select what I like with the mouse, and then I'll do save as again: I will have as many eml files as there are selected emails.
If I want all the ones from a specific folder (inbox, sent...), I do as indicated by Pierr10 in <2>, I will have as many eml files as there are emails in that folder. -

Here are some simple explanations. Thank you Brucine & Pierr10
