Hello,

Since yesterday (or the day before), when I open a Messenger window from Firefox on my MacBook Pro, I only have a blank window (its content does not display).

Are there other people experiencing this problem? How can I fix it?

Good evening.

Try this:

When only a blank page appears when you try to reach the login page of the site, it may be caused by cookies stored by your web browser. To remedy this issue, you need to delete the cookies from your browser.

Hello.

I just deleted the cookies and logged back into Facebook, but it’s even worse; the chat window doesn’t show up at all anymore.

I should mention that upon logging back in, I only accepted the essential cookies for Facebook.

Could the problem be related to that?

click on the round icon in the bottom right corner of the screen containing the "write" logo, your window will reappear ... but blank :) pffffffff, it's really a pain :(

Hello, I have the exact same problem, I've tried everything and nothing works :( and no matter which browser is used...

If it's just the two of us, I think others must be affected too, but unfortunately I haven't found a solution on all the forums I've checked... let's keep each other updated ;)

Hello. I have browsed some forums and found this. Give it a try: I found that the problem is the new Facebook page with one of the external applications, there is an incompatibility. You need to go to your Facebook account via a mail link (like a photo link, for example). Then go to settings -> applications and remove all applications, leaving only the original Facebook applications (links, photos, videos, events, ...). After that, you should be able to access the page without any problem!

Unfortunately yes.

I tried all the tricks I could find on the internet (and in this thread) without any success.

Moreover, the "Messenger" app for Mac is not compatible with my OS.

It's very frustrating because at the moment, I can only use it on my smartphone which is often charging.

It's not a bad idea. Honestly, social media can be a danger and take up a large part of private life and be invasive. I'm not saying this for you to leave Facebook, just a warning. It's never healthy this kind of thing with everything that’s hidden behind it. We are not much for these companies, just a product from which they can make millions. Don't take offense at what I'm saying; I've never liked this kind of thing and I prefer to share it.

Anyway, that was a sideline. Why isn't the app working for Mac, is it updated to your current version? There's a version here that isn't very old: https://www.01net.com/telecharger/internet/communication/facebook-messenger.html

And for the phone, why is it always charging? On one hand, if it goes to the phone, that's fine too since you use it often, right? (In case you don't use it on the computer) If it's often charging, it removes the chances of using it (F), doesn't it?

leave only the original Facebook apps

I'm okay with that, but I don't see it in the "apps" settings

Well... I just did it but it doesn’t change anything.

Windows Application settings, not Facebook, and it was to disable other apps that have nothing to do with Facebook. After that, I don't know because it's beyond my means.

Alright.

The problem is that I'm on Mac OS (10.11.6) and I don't know where this setting is located.

Hello, how are you doing? Research is taking its time to arrive, I know. Is this parameter unknown to you? Regarding the topic, you are doing some research on the Internet, it's not hard. Everything I’m telling you comes from the Internet because I don’t have everything in mind or I don’t know everything. You shouldn't think that everyone here knows the answer without looking up a bit on the Internet. If they know how to search, you can search too :^)

Example: I’m not on Mac, well, I searched where it was located:

Where are applications located on Mac?

To display all available apps on your Mac, click on the Launchpad icon in the Dock. To open an app, click on its icon in the Dock or use Launchpad.

Finally, I don’t know the answer regarding Facebook (even with the Internet), I just wanted to add this. I hope someone else will find the answer. I hope you’re doing well! ;)

Of course, I have done my research but I haven't found anything that corresponds to my problem.

To display all the available apps on your Mac, click on the Launchpad icon in the Dock. To open an app, click on its icon in the Dock or use Launchpad.

I tried but even though I enter my Facebook credentials, I get the following message: Cannot verify the account name or password.
