Programme "datachannel.dll" missing

Hello,

I frequently use the UTORRENT program. My PC is equipped with ESET INTERNET SECURITY and this program flagged UTORRENT as unwanted. I bypassed it and it didn't cause any problems.

Suddenly this morning ESET displayed a rejection screen for UTORRENT again! I tried to bypass it once more but afterwards I couldn't use my torrent and the PC showed "datachannel.dll not found."

I uninstalled ESET to try reinstalling UTORRENT but nothing works.

Does anyone have a solution to propose?

HP Pavilion laptop 15 running 64bits

Thank you in advance.

Hello.

Put Utorrent in the exceptions of Eset so it will no longer scan or block it.

Hello,

Thank you for your feedback. However, this will not solve the problem of the missing "datachannel.dll" file. This file suddenly disappeared while everything was working perfectly before.

I also don't understand why my computer's configuration changes on its own when I'm protected by an antivirus (which I indeed pay for).

I will start by adding UTORRENT to the accepted files, and then we'll see.

This will take me some time because I haven't done the 5 years of university studies required to manage ESET properly!

Thanks again for your advice.

Hello again

Can someone tell me if a system restoration to an earlier date is likely to bring back the missing dll file (datachannel.dll)?

Thank you

Yes, because if you put the installation file of µTorrent in the ESET exceptions and reinstall µTorrent, it will no longer be deleted by ESET.

Can someone tell me if a system restore to an earlier date is likely to make the missing dll file (datachannel.dll) reappear?

If you know where the datachannel.dll file is located, use Shadow Explorer.

Hello,

My problem is solved.

Thanks to bazfile. I added utorrent to the allowed URLs in ESET. Then I reloaded utorrent and everything went smoothly.

I had already tried to reload the torrent before, but indeed it was necessary to register it in ESET first.

Thanks again
