Storage space on Wix
luc -
Hello, on my Wix site, I received a message informing me that my storage space was full and that I could no longer add videos. I deleted pages, video folders, etc. However, there is no change to the storage space. How is that possible? Thank you for your response.

Good evening, I also have this strange issue occurring simultaneously with their -50% campaign on paid plans. I have deleted nearly 2/3 of the imported items on my site over the past 7 years, but there hasn't been a significant change in storage space....at this rate, my site, which was rich in information yesterday, is going to end up with just 3 lines of text.....The problem started in early March 2023. I emptied the trash and all audio elements.....and the indicator remains at 3.1GB out of 500MB, just that alone is incoherent....I suspect a marketing operation to force us to take the paid option.
I received a message your storage space is full
4.9 Go used out of 500 Mo
nice scam from WIX because
1 Ko = 1000 o
1 Mo = 1000 Ko
1 Go = 1000 Mo
so our space of 500 Mo equals barely .5 Go
so if I want to reach 500 Mo I almost have to delete my site
So WIX must have reduced our space from ???? to a small 500 Mo
Hello, likewise I've deleted pages and photos and emptied the trash, I'm at 538MB for 500MB (so basically not much left). I can't delete anything else unless I delete everything, and since I've made business cards with a QR code that links to this site, I'm pretty frustrated. So I'm adding text and links that redirect to my Facebook for info and photos, but after the time spent writing everything and setting it up... I'm not keen (nor do I have the means) to pay.
Hello Toto91,
"3.1G0 remaining out of 500Mo" : Well, that's really not much.
For example, at Free it's 10 Go and it's free. I've been with them since 2001 and have never had this kind of issue.
I repeat, it's peanuts for hosting.
One piece of advice: don't throw anything away and change host.
Regards!
Thank you for your response. How can I access this host? I don't know.
By the way, I have confirmation that Wixsite has indeed changed its policy on storage management. The support team confirmed it to me via email. I find it abject and outrageous to reduce the storage capacity below what is already being used... it's like killing the sites. Even by deleting three-quarters of my content, I remain above their 500 MB limit. They are forcing purchases to maintain the operation of our site that has been used for several years. This way of operating is really abject.
Even if I choose a paid plan, how do they tell me that they won't change their storage policy again and do the same thing to me?
WIX = shouldn't have !!!
we keep saying it !!!!
do some research on GG, you'll quickly understand why a site on 'wix' is doomed to fail: the coding is completely terrible!
now that it exists, there should normally be a "customer service", since paid options exist, try to contact them and ask them the questions ...
personally, I've thrown in the towel with them a long time ago ...
sorry
Hello Toto91,
For free hosting at Free: (Give a name other than your own, it will be more discreet in the internet account name). Choose a name that makes sense with the content of the site.
Go to the Free website suscribe.free to create an email account (which gives you 10GB of storage), all completely free, of course.
Also see Free assistance
When you receive the letter, you will have access to your space and take the opportunity to "activate" the database (2 days to be active) which contains all the tools to create and manage your database.
Then you upload all the files of your site (with FileZilla for example).
Regards !.
Hello
Wix is not just a hosting provider... It has a site builder....
Switching to another host will require you to redevelop your site.
To save space, it is recommended to host your videos on YouTube and then use them on your site. This way, the videos do not take up space on your hosting.
However, if you still want to change host,
to help you, it seems to me that there are modules that allow you to export Wix pages and reimport them into a CMS like WordPress. (At least I think I've seen that somewhere).
Another alternative just to "save" small amounts of data 120Go
low price per unit purchase balance 14.09€

Hello everyone,
Jordane45: You said "It includes a site generator....": OK! But its problem is that it takes up space.
Indeed, if he generated his site remotely, his problem is more serious. He will have to start all over again, by hand. And that's another story.
Best regards!
PS: I will check out this wix to try to understand what they offer....
Oops. Very tempting for a novice....
While I have a paid premium account, the site blocks all loading and tells me that I am using 25Gb for 3Gb available! An astonishing remark that proves the terms of my subscription have changed without notifying me.
With 3Gb of data, I'm done for. And I don't intend to pay €400/year to store my pieces.
In short, if online storage becomes increasingly expensive, which I can understand, I will close my account...
Yes indeed, that’s a good lead! Thank you
