How to unlock "locked keys" on ASUS GAMER VG screen

Solved

Hello everyone,

My son accidentally activated the "locked keys" option on his ASUS VG1A screen.

He can't do anything or even turn it off.

The manual tells us to hold down the X key for 5 seconds to unlock it, but that doesn't work at all...

Does anyone have a solution?

Thank youuuu!

The notice for the VG277Q1A talks about the bottom button just like for the VG279Q1A!!??

The bottom button might be the lower part of the joystick that is located at the top of the button series.

VG277Q1A notice: https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/LCD%20Monitors/VG277Q1A/ASUS_VG277Q1A_UG_French.pdf?model=vg277q1a

IF this last attempt fails, then, indeed, going through customer service is certainly the solution.

Thank you very much!!!

It worked this time! You really have to push down the little joystick at the top of the button row for a few seconds.

Thanks again because honestly, the explanation in the manual is not clear!

That's the least I can say....

Happy for you, your son has found a "finally free" instructor.

Best regards

Thank you, you helped me. I was looking for the tutorial on YouTube but it's all English tutorials.

And I think that in the future, they should make tutorials in French.

Hello,

The lock is on the screen... not on the PC

Excerpt from the manual page 21

The manual: https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/LCD%20Monitors/VG279Q1A/ASUS_VG279Q1A_Frech.pdf?model=VG279Q1A

Very difficult to catch a black cat in a dark room.
Especially when it's not there...

Thank you for your response.

We agree that the button at the bottom indicated in the manual is button number 2 (power off), right?

I tried holding down this button but nothing happens...

According to the manual, yes... but there is also a power lock via the menu...

The exact model is indeed the one for which I found the manual VG279Q1?

I just found another manual for the TUF VG1A series that says to hold down the X button for more than 5 seconds

This manual: https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/LCD%20Monitors/VG27AQ1A/VG27AQL1A_VG27AQ1A_French.pdf

But you have already said that it doesn't work .... !?

Yes, that's the model I have VG277Q1A but unfortunately this trick doesn't work ...

Thank you very much for your efforts to help me but I think I'm going to end up at customer service because nothing I try works!

You need to press and hold the menu for 5 seconds and open it right after
