Hello everyone, I'm reaching out because I need your help. My Philips television 42PFL8404H/12 has a problem, I can't find any information online, which is why I'm turning to this forum. In fact, the cable connecting the power board to the socket for the external power cable, which is a C7 cable, has broken, as you can see in the images; the two metal prongs that connect inside the C7 socket are broken. I'm therefore asking you if you know the name of this cable, as I cannot find any information. Thank you very much for your help.

Best regards, Paul

Hello, you just need to change the socket and re-solder the wires on it, but first, we need to know why it broke, whether the socket melted or if it was just due to physical stress.

I think she went through a shock, but the thing is I tried to solder the metal rods onto the cable, but it didn't hold????

If the wires have trouble soldering, then you will need to go through a "sugar" and a small piece of electrical wire, which will need to be soldered onto the new connector.

You first need to heat the metal of the rods sufficiently and then apply the tin; it should melt instantly upon contact with the heated piece and not upon contact with the soldering iron tip.

How can it be impossible to find? The input given in message #2 seems to be exactly the same to me.
