Gmail authentication issues

Hello everyone and Happy New Year, wishing you health and peace
I am facing "an error occurred while authenticating your account" when I am on Picasa and click on Gmail to send my photos to a correspondent's address. What should I do to resolve this situation, please?

Hello,
You can keep Picasa on your computer for some interesting features, but it is no longer supported by Google. Switch from Picasa to Google Photos.

Hello Foulq and thank you, I understand that it's over for me, but I tried to switch from Picasa to Google Photos but I couldn't manage it...
I probably have something that's not right on my PC - sometimes I don't have Gmail authentication, other times I don't have something else "Google Play" anyway it's now too complicated for my old brain, and it's a shame because Picasa and sending my photos by email were much simpler and manageable for me.
