Hello,

I have a desktop PC, so it's not portable, and it's from 2018. Since yesterday, a light that I've never seen before appeared in the lower bar of the screen: A horizontal "AA" battery icon... This battery partially covers the desktop icon and next to it, there's a small male plug!

Should I remove it please, and what is this thing doing on a stationary PC that runs on mains power?

Just so you know, I'm not a computer geek!

Thank you in advance for your insights

Hello,

Specify which PC and which Windows OS?... This icon usually appears in the taskbar but not automatically.

Check if you haven't inadvertently manipulated this feature, assuming you are indeed on Windows 10.

Thank you.

It's a Lenovo "IDEACENTRE 510S-08IKL" with Windows 10. I'm wondering if this is related to the paid "Smart performance" option taken a few months ago, because when I left-click on the icon or the little plug, I go straight to "My Ideacentre"!

And no, I haven't activated this option; I just removed it from the taskbar.
