Fortnite switch: friend request issue

Gwen0508 -

Hello,

my son can no longer accept friend requests on Fortnite on Switch, nor can he send a friend request (which is not received by the other person).

He has uninstalled and reinstalled the game.

We have checked the settings without seeing anything unusual.

Can you help us please? Thank you in advance.

Hello, same problem. I found the solution, you need to go to parental controls, enter your PIN code. The parental control settings will open. Set "accept friend requests" with the code => YES. Go back to friend requests, accept, enter the code (same as parental PIN code).

Hello,

I'm experiencing exactly the same issue... I've tried adjusting the parental controls, but everything seems normal...

No matter how hard I look, I can't see a solution.

Same problem for my son. A friend accidentally removed him from his friends and now neither of them can accept the other's request.

The only issue is that I don't remember the PIN code. Is it really reliable and is there a risk of losing their account?

Because the kid tells me to go into Fortnite's settings and enter the PIN code since I don't remember it, I have to click on forgot code, enter the email address and password for the Epic Games account, and then I'll receive another PIN code and can log into the game.

Is that correct?

Hello

Thank you for your comment.

I just performed your action and it indeed works again.

She can now accept and request friends. That's cool.

Thanks again

Have a great weekend

Hello, so it's a solution but for those who do not have parental control?

OK thanks but what do we do if we don't remember our PIN code

Good evening,

I'm in the same situation. I tried your workaround, but nothing works. I even disabled parental controls, but it didn't change anything.

If anyone has a solution, I'm all ears.

Thank you

Have you found a solution? For us, nothing works, with or without the PIN code..

Hello,

You need to go to "parental agreement" and enter the associated PIN code again. Entering a valid PIN code solved my issue.
If you no longer remember your PIN code, you can reset it from your child's account on the EPIC GAMES website.

How do we reset?

Good evening,

I have the solution, I can once again accept friend requests ????

I feel like this is due to a bug on the Epic Games account linked to the Switch.

Here's what you need to do:

1) Go to the Epic Games account (epicgames.com) linked to your Switch

2) Log in using your ID (email address and password)

3) Click on ACCOUNT

4) Click on PARENTAL CONTROLS

5) Enter your parental control PIN code

6) Activate the "Require a PIN code to add Epic friends" feature.

7) Restart the Fortnite application (game). For the modification described above made on the Epic Games site to take effect in your Fortnite game, you will need to log out and then log back into the game.

8) All you have to do now is accept Fortnite friend requests by entering the parental control PIN code from now on.

I haven't tried deactivating the "Require a PIN code to add Epic friends" feature again.

I hope this helps you.

Have a good evening

Hello,

I’ve tried everything but it’s not working, I’m losing hope…

No matter how many times I enter the PIN, modifying it on Epic Games, Fortnite always rejects it and tells me it’s incorrect…

I don’t know what to do, can you help me?

Hello,

In my opinion, the Epic Games account on which you are changing the parental control PIN is not the right one (it is not the Epic Games account associated with your Switch).

I think you have another Epic Games account.

Best regards

Hello

I have the same issue with the incorrect parental code even though it's the right one. I have disabled parental controls and the PIN request for adding friends but the PIN is still being requested. I have been searching for 48 hours and I'm losing it. Thank you for your help if possible.

He has an Epic account with a PIN code that I can change without any issues, but it is never taken into account on Fortnite.....

Weird indeed! Otherwise, contact EpicGame support, they are quite responsive and not too bad in terms of solutions they provide!

Hello, I have the same issue as you titi334.
On Fortnite, I am asked for the PIN code, which is always incorrect. So I click on forgot code, and then I'm redirected to the game store. I have disabled all the functions that require a PIN code. Then I changed the code. But when we restart Fortnite to add friends, this PIN code is still requested. We're going in circles...

Has anyone found a solution? Despite restarting Fortnite every time there’s a change in the game store, nothing works ????

Good evening,

Thank you, your solution worked.

I then went back to make the modification to remove the PIN code for each request, and it works normally again.

Have a nice evening.

Hello,

I have an issue with the Fortnite game on my son's Switch. Basically, he installed the game on his Switch and I wanted to create the Epic Games account afterward with a different email address, but the problem is that the Fortnite and Epic Games IDs are different. So they need to be merged, but even associating Epic Games with Nintendo doesn’t work. What should I do?

Thank you for your help.

Same for my son

Impossible to accept a friend request on Fortnite and impossible to send a request.

I deleted all pending friend requests, my son only has 180 friends, the privacy settings are fine and anyway nothing has changed compared to before, I restarted the Switch...nothing works.

If anyone has the solution...

After struggling for quite a while myself with this story of the parental PIN code that wasn't working, I finally found the solution that works for good!

It's really simple actually, you need to go to epicgames and log in with your child's account, and once in the parental control settings, you just have to modify the PIN code!

Mine didn't have an epicgames account but had a Nintendo account, so I logged into epicgames with the Nintendo account, and from there they asked me to create the epicgames account, which I did, and I was able to change the PIN code, so now he can play with his friends without any issues!

Hello, I also have problems with my PIN code; I can’t find which one it is and I can’t resend it. Could you please resend it so I can add friends? My username is ancienwren6612.

By going to your parental account, you will be able to withdraw
