Web navigation has become almost impossible

Hello,
Web browsing has become almost impossible on my iMac (OSX 10.9.5).
Many sites do not load (wetransfer, Commentcamarche.com, and many other well-known sites) on Chrome and Safari.
Also, to access most sites, I get a message that my connection is not private, and I have to keep "forcing" my way in to access them.
Every time I turn on my computer, I have to log back into my Google account, using two-factor authentication with my phone, and it doesn't even save my email address for me to log in.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Chrome, but the problem remains the same. When I use Safari, I have the same issue; the pages do not load.
In short, I’m starting to lose hope… can anyone help me?

Hello,
Unfortunately, it won't get any better. The OS and browsers haven't been updated for quite some time, and that poses a problem with security protocols (SSL).
A drastic solution is to switch to Linux; I did it for a MacBook, and it's working wonderfully.
Hello,
Hello everyone, it's Cdbvs
Hi Clement, Hi Diablo76,
Indeed, that's been the problem with Macintosh for a long time. We buy a Mac because it's awesome, it works super well, it's a great machine, but after 1 year the customer service doesn't work anymore and after 2 years the internet doesn't work anymore, and then we're forced to fork out money again to buy a new machine for €2000.
I like Macs, but for the internet I buy PCs because the issue is mitigated, a machine lasts twice as long and there are solutions after the warranty period.
There you go.
See you+

That's quite a load of "nonsense", and that's an understatement.

That's it.

Hello,
if your experience with Apple doesn't last more than 1 or 2 years, I indeed invite you to stay in the Windows forum part.
Apple supports devices for about 5 to 7 years for software and 5 to 8 years for hardware, depending on the case.
Today, 10.11 is obsolete, so in 2021/2022 we are at Ventura, which is about 6/7 years.
10.9.5 is logically obsolete.
The troubleshooting methodology is not correct. An iMac, okay, which one?? Size??? Year of manufacture????
The first iMac with 10.9.3! is a 2014. Are we talking about that one? If yes, very well, it can at least run Big Sur.
I don't know ANY MAC that is final for 10.9.5!
The iMac 20 inch mid 2007 is 10.11.6 max
The link you provided is not up to date.
No machine stops at 10.9.5 or 10.10.4, by the way, the last one is 10.10.5
iMac 17 / 2006 = 10.6.8
iMac 17 / Late 2006 CD = 10.7.5
iMac 20 / 2007 = 10.11.6
iMac 21 / late 2009 = 10.13.6
iMac 21 / late 2012 = 10.15.7
iMac 21 / 2014 = Big Sur recommended max
iMac 21 / 2015 = Monterey max recommended
and finally 21 2017 = Ventura
Yes, maybe, but in principle it doesn't change anything, even if it's 10.10.5, it is obsolete.
My Mid 2011 iMac (High Sierra) is still holding up for now, even if the OS is no longer being updated, but I'm expecting to have issues with the browsers when they are no longer maintained... it's already the case for most apps that require at least 10.14.
