For some time now, there have been random beeps that stop when we pick up the receiver (very unpleasant at night). Resetting and changing the batteries does nothing. It is connected to a Freebox Revolution. What should I do? Best regards, DR

Hello,

In general, when placing a handset on its base (or its charger model with multiple handsets), there is a sound emission. Check that no dust or foreign objects are present on the contacts of the base and/or the handset... Clean if necessary.
This could cause poor contacts and vibrations, which could lead to sound emission.

You say "random," so I deduce that it cannot be a programmed alarm.
Still, check that there isn't an icon in the shape of a bell on the screen.

Also, check by pressing OK/menu, then "SET. HANDSET," “SOUND ALERTS.”,

If the key tone is active or not and if there are no other alerts than "Key tones" that the manual does not address.

Thank you very much, it’s a very relevant idea. However, I noticed that the new Alcatel model (XL 785 Voice) has a function to prevent external numbers (not in the directory) from ringing. I bought it because, like many, I’m fed up with being harassed by all kinds of telemarketers.

It works very well since Free offers caller ID. Numbers not present in the directory only show up in the call log but cannot leave a message. Do you know if this option is available on mobile phones? Best regards.

This call-silencing feature for any number not listed in the directory exists for many other brands and models of cordless landline phones.

However, I have no idea about mobile phones; they usually have a blocking function provided by the operator... but I haven't yet seen these blocks directly associated with numbers not included in the directory.
