Connecting soundbar to Philips TV

Hello,

I have a Philips The One TV and a JBL Multibeam soundbar. I connected them via HDMI. So far, everything was fine until suddenly the sound system stopped switching to the soundbar.
The following message then appears on the screen: "Unable to switch to the sound system, the television speakers are active."

How can I solve this problem?
Best regards

    Hello,

Personally, I almost went crazy with this HDMI ARC feature which proves to be very unstable and temperamental, try connecting in another way and if you can't, give us the full specifications of your TV and soundbar.

So I have to go through the optical cable (the only other port on the soundbar)?
Is there any specific setting to do after that?

The TV model is: Philips LED TV 50PUS8545

Soundbar model: JBL Bar 5.0 Multibeam

      Thanks for your help!

Yes, use a good optical cable and there might be a setting to adjust in the TV's audio menu, such as checking "external speakers".
