Connections TV + Canal Decoder + Soundbar

Hello,
My TV (LG) works via Canal+ decoder connected to HDMI 2, I would like to connect a soundbar (Sharp) according to the manual, connecting the soundbar to HDMI 1 ARC. I have done this. The source is of course HDMI 2. The sound is coming from the TV and not from the soundbar. If I select the external speaker option on the TV, there is no sound. How should I proceed?
1) If I connect using optical, what cable do I need to buy (not included with the soundbar)?
2) Do I need to buy a multiple HDMI to connect the decoder and the soundbar to HDMI 1 ARC?

Hello,
The best option would be to connect an optical cable between the decoder's output and the soundbar's input, it will be more direct.
