Thank you for your help, actually what I’m looking for is how to restore access via Firefox, because using EDGE instead of Firefox works very well. It also works fine if I perform an internet search based on the titles of the articles from Le Point that interest me.

Do you have any idea how I can restore access via Firefox?

Hello,

The "bug" is not on your side or Firefox's, but on the server's: since it is an "old" non-secure http site, it is likely that the "revocation" comes from the site itself, as mentioned, and Firefox prohibits any direct corrective measures; the solution is to go through the updated site:

https://www.lepoint.fr/24h-infos/

If you still want to access this link, there are various unhealthy workarounds since they involve disabling security certificates not just for a specific site, but globally, like this example:

Hello everyone,

Indeed, maybe this will work ==► Disable the OCSP Responder

Click on ► Settings
Go to the left menu on the line ► Privacy and Security
Scroll down to the section ► Certificates
Uncheck the box ►Query the OCSP responder to confirm the validity of your certificates

Close Firefox, then reopen it, and check the problematic site.

Last minute info:

Firefox # Avast

We are seeing a huge spike in crashes in #Firefox caused by a bug in the Avast antivirus software. If you are using it and your browser crashes, consider uninstalling it.

A fix is underway from Avast's side.

Erratum : Firefox # Avast

It isMozilla that is rushing to fix a bug Avast that is causing crashes in Firefox.

The problem with the Avast software was critical, as it was responsible for the top 5 crashes of the desktop browser on Windows at launch and the top 20 crashes of the desktop browser at launch. Mozilla decided to block Avast's DLL files using Firefox's DLL blocklist file to prevent crashes from occurring. An update to Firefox 105.0.3 is already available, which includes the new entry in the blocklist. Crashes can also be caused by AVG Antivirus software. Update the Firefox web browser immediately to the latest stable version.

Update for Firefox 105.0.3 is available :

Hello,

More generally, one should not say that there is a bug in Avast but that Avast is a bug.

Hi Brucine,

The same compliment for AVG.

Hello,

Thank you all for your responses.

I am using FIREFOX 105.0.3, and the problem is still there.

I reported this issue to the Point newsletter, I hope they can do something about it.

For now, I am using EDGE to read the articles from the Point newsletters.

Hello marsupilami,

Is the problem with the '' revoked certificate '' on the website Le Point or only in the newsletters from the Le Point site?

If the Le Point website is accessible and not the newsletter from Le Point, there might be an issue with the SSL certificate server of that same site, so an internal site problem (hence your request).

But then why on Firefox and not on Microsoft Edge.

Thank you for posting a screenshot of the URL with the error message.

What antivirus do you have?

What you can try is to disable your third-party antivirus if you have one, and to launch Firefox in private browsing mode to access your newsletter. (I don't believe it, but try it anyway).

Since you have tried with Edge, and if you haven't changed anything, it's Windows Defender the antivirus. (No need to disable it).

Hi,

It's easy to find, using the address bar:

https://actu.lepoint.fr/

where Firefox has added an s to http by default; in my opinion, it's a "backroad," an old http site that is no longer maintained, I guess Firefox censors this certificate revocation while other browsers are less picky, but I'm having a hard time grasping the question, since the link I provided in <3> works and probably gives the same result.

There is indeed a problem with (revoked certificate) somewhere, with Firefox.

To check it, I created an account on the Le Point website to subscribe to the newsletter.

So far, so good.

Then, you need to confirm your ''Le Point'' account in the inbox.

So, I validate (in Firefox) my account.

And then it all goes wrong.

You get the error code SEC_ERROR_REVOKED_CERTIFICATE

And starting from the URL, I copy and paste it into Google Chrome and the same on Microsoft Edge, and it works.

The attempt in private browsing is unsuccessful.

Same with ad blockers disabled.

Same after clearing the cache and history in Firefox.

In the meantime, I receive my first newsletter in my inbox.

My default browser is Firefox.

I click on the newsletter.

This returns the same error code SEC_ERROR_REVOKED_CERTIFICATE

And opens fine with Edge or Chrome.

I just found the solution with Firefox (at least for me) --► SEC_ERROR_REVOKED_CERTIFICATE

I need to be away for a little while.

See you later.

I checked the link of the message #10

The page or site opens without the error message SEC_ERROR_REVOKED_CERTIFICATE

Without actually being on the site :

actu.lepoint.fr

But it's still better than the error code.

These are the images that can be seen after the procedure.

The same on Chrome and Edge, the URL is not the right one.

See you later.

The culprit is indeed the OCSP responder

(in my case).

I will delve deeper in a little while.

Here is the procedure, the steps that worked for me regarding the error code:

SEC_ERROR_REVOKED_CERTIFICATE

This procedure to disable the OCSP responder was the right one, but insufficient.

So, it was necessary to modify a value in Firefox's configuration editor.

The procedure:

Open Firefox.

Clear everything in the address bar and paste --► about:config

Then press the Enter key, or right-click on the URL bar and --► paste and go

Click on --► Accept the risk and continue

In the '' Search for a preference name '' box, paste --► security.OCSP.enabled

The default value is 1

You need to modify this value.

Double-click on the line --► ..............security.OCSP.enabled.............1

Or click on the pencil (Edit) located at the top right

Clear the number 1 and type the number 0 (zero) instead.

Click on Confirm (it's the icon shaped like a V).

Close Firefox to take the modification into account.

Restart Firefox.

@marsupilami1947

Now open your ''newsletter'' from the website Le point.

Hello,

I implemented the procedure you suggested.

It didn't go exactly as you described, but I was still able to get through it, and it worked.

I can now read the articles from a newsletter of Le Point in Firefox.

Thank you for your help.

Hello marsupilami1947,

Happy for you…

but I was still able to go all the way, and it worked.

It is indeed the answering machine OCSP that is to blame.

The trick in the Firefox configuration editor bypasses and solves the problem.

In summary, we disable a security feature (like an antivirus would do, SSL analysis of the URL) in Firefox (which is not the case with Edge or Chrome, for example, which are exemplary in terms of security), something to avoid, but there's no other choice for your site (your newsletter), though this is quite rare with Firefox.

Forum Mozilla firefox (wasn't too far from the truth) to find the solution:

You can mark your post as resolved.

Best wishes.

As for your request to the Le Point site, don't hesitate to provide the response or a screenshot if they found a solution on their side (the Le Point site), this on the forum.

The Le Point site may have a valid explanation, at least to be more precise about the error code when opening the newsletter.

I reported this issue to the Le Point newsletter, I hope they can do something.

If it's related to SSL security or their Certificate, which wouldn't surprise me, this can be easily checked.

A click on the padlock in the address bar, secure or encrypted connection, and in the information (security tab) check the validity of the certificate (the date in particular) but not only that....ID key probably.

-------------------------

Even if you find my explanation complicated, it makes sense, I'm probably not far from the truth, so the only workaround possible in Firefox is the configuration editor solution, for lack of better.

Bye-bye.

Hello,

Every time I have the same problem, I don't know how to declare my issue resolved.

It seems to me that this could be improved on the site to make the operation more obvious.

Can you refresh my memory?

Best regards
