No signal - requires channel scanning

Hello,

I just moved into a new house and my HAIER TV, which was working perfectly until now, cannot find the channels. It is connected to an antenna cable. First, on DTV source, it said "no signal" and on VTT "requires channel scanning." So I did the channel scan for both DTV and ATV with antenna type set to cable and air since I don't know which one works, but each time no channels are found. What should I do?

Thank you

Hello,

"It's connected to an antenna cable"

Yes, but where does that cable lead???

Does this new house have a working antenna? (a rooftop antenna?)

no idea where it leads, it goes into the wall and that's what the previous owners used to get TV but I don't know if they had a TNT decoder?

no rooftop antenna but a satellite dish (the solid round ones)

thanks in advance!

Hello

Often a satellite dish requires a decoder (not necessarily TNT) and needs to be aligned with a satellite by a TV installer.

Contacting a local installer seems to be the easiest solution. They are well aware of the reception conditions and the available offers in the area, and will respond best to your specific request for channels, being the most efficient and cost-effective locally while taking into account the equipment already installed.

Hello,

I confirm, however if in the terrestrial reception area, adding a dipole antenna would be simpler and less costly, take a look at what is installed on the neighbors' roof.
