Lost passwords Opera GX

Hello,

Do you know of any software like MozBackup that would allow me to recover my bookmarks and saved passwords from Opera GX? I lost everything after an update.

If there isn't any, do you know the name of the file where the passwords are stored in the Opera GX folder? With a standard data recovery software, I could try to recover an older version of that file and replace it if possible.

I suggest you try Hekasoft Backup & Restore ► Here ...

Edit ► However, this tool only restores if you had made a backup with the same software beforehand ... so in my opinion, it's game over ??

  • What updates have you done, as it might very well be that your profile is still recoverable in the hidden files of Windows, namely the Opera Software folders in the path User ► Local ... and the same folder ... but in User ► Roaming
  • But I'm not sure if the passwords can be recovered?
  • Another solution maybe ► Perform a system restore by setting a date prior to your updates...

Thank you for your help.

I don't really know, but overnight, when I opened Opera GX, I had nothing left, no favorites, no saved passwords. I assume it was an update that caused everything to disappear...

I reinstalled my old browser Mozilla and with the software MozBackup I was able to recover all my passwords and favorites, but the new ones are not there... So I'm thinking that the passwords saved on Opera GX must still be somewhere on the PC.

Yes, I actually went to look in Roaming, but I don't know which file manages the saved passwords.

I just tried the software but unfortunately it doesn't work, I recovered 3 files in Roaming but nothing...

In User > Local ► Copy/paste the old Opera Software folder to the new one... the same for User > Roaming, although I'm not at all sure that the passwords can be recovered even by copying/pasting these 2 folders in place of the current ones

..All of this applies to Opera but is not compatible with Firefox

Otherwise, try to perform a system restore as mentioned above

Unfortunately, it doesn't work and my system restore doesn't go back far enough, I've let too much time pass and I don't have a backup from July...

Hello ......

Personally, I don't have any other solutions to suggest to you... except for changing all the passwords you've forgotten by going to the sites and using 'Forgot Password'... and don’t forget to occasionally back up with Hekasoft Backup & Restore.
