PB restoration SMS backup & restore

Hello everyone,

I'm new to this forum but not new to the rest.

I don't know where to post this topic but I guess you'll tell me.

My problem is that I backed up my old smartphone with SMS Backup & Restore on Google Drive (about 4,000 messages).

When I restore it on my new device, I only have 1,600 messages left, and none of the MMS were restored even though I ticked the right boxes during the backup.

So there it is, the problem is laid out.

I visited the CCM website for the first time in 2003, and usually I find solutions to all my problems, but this time...

Thanks in advance for racking your brains for me, especially during this time...

    Hello.

    Nothing new for your app. It has been this way since the beginning. This app can indeed back up SMS and MMS but cannot restore MMS. Read this

    SMS backup+ is not the app mentioned in the question regarding the app SMS Backup & Restore.

    Having used it often, I have never had any restoration issues with this app.

    Old device: Huawei P8 Lite 2017

    New device: Samsung Galaxy A32 5G

    If I can't recover these MMS, my wife will strangle me... Save me!!!

    Indeed, I did use SMS Backup & Restore and not SMS Backup+.

    So you’re telling me it works for you?

    Could I have forgotten something in the restoration? A setting on the Galaxy A32?

    On Google Drive, the (huge) file is showing up as .xml.

    Do you have any suggestions?

    Hello

    My sincerest apologies for confusing the app... I also use SMS Backup & Restore Pro and I haven't had that problem either.... Go to settings, find your Google Messages app, and clear the data to see and then restart your phone once done because it can take some time for everything to display correctly... I don't know if Samsung has its own SMS app but use the Google app... Be careful as this only concerns the SMS app and does not affect other apps like WhatsApp, etc...

    That's kind, but I can no longer delete this data, new messages have arrived since Sunday.

    I don't know what happened, I'll be more careful next time, that is, during the next phone change, in 5 or 6 years...

    Yes, I tried other restoration attempts without deleting the existing messages, and the results are identical to the first restoration...
