Hello,
After moving the PC tower without any notable incidents, I can't get any signal on the screen.
I've tested with 3 monitors and several HDMI and DP cables, all of which work (tested on another PC)
I tried connecting to the graphics card, and in desperation even to the motherboard... nothing!
I'm sure the PC starts up (LEDs on, startup sound, fan)
I deduce that it's probably the graphics card that is faulty or disconnected from the motherboard, or is there another hypothesis?
Also, is it possible to force it to boot using the chipset by connecting the monitor to the motherboard, for example with a series of keystrokes? That would at least allow me to use the computer while waiting for repairs.
Thanks in advance!
Erwan
[EDIT1] I tried discharging the residual charge as indicated in the post https://forums.commentcamarche.net/forum/affich-2934482-boot-impossible-no-signal-sur-ecran#answers, nada
[EDIT2]
- The lit LEDs include a small white one on the graphics card, a white one under the power button, and a diffuse orange one I don’t know where behind the graphics card
- No BEEP at startup

Hello,
What is the PC..?? Brand..?? Model..?
If it says "No signal", it means the screen is working, but it’s not receiving a signal from the PC... So it could be the Video link cable or the graphics card..
It has to be related to your move.. dig a little, what did you touch; I'm thinking about the HDMI or VGA cables, dirt in the contacts of the connectors for example, or pins that have retracted into the connector... etc... see if these cables also work with the screen or another screen, on another PC..??
If yes, we need to look at the graphics card... It might have shifted during the move... Remove it and then reinsert it... firmly.
To switch back to motherboard display (VGA or HDMI.. or DVI), you might need to enable it in the BIOS, turn off the PC... remove the graphics card... connect the screen to the motherboard... start the PC, it should logically restart having found the basic display... You might need to restart a second time.??

Depending on the motherboard..?? if it has an integrated graphics chip, it should work... Otherwise, it’s the processor that must contain the graphics processing..?? Otherwise, the motherboard display won’t work. -
Thank you for the response, I'm going to look into disassembling the graphics card!
As I mentioned, it can't be either the screen or the connection cable, since I've tested several and they work perfectly with another PC. I strongly doubt it's due to the connection port on the graphics card, as I've tested both ports (HDMI and DP). It's extremely unlikely that both would malfunction at the same time.
Regarding the move, it was just a relocation of the computer, well secured in the trunk, protected in the original Styrofoam. I'm sure there were no shocks, at most some handling turning it several times in different directions :/
I have a VGA and an HDMI on the motherboard, but I can't really navigate the BIOS without a screen. It seems too risky to try to find a BIOS image and blindly attempt to press the right keyboard commands. So yes, I will test after unplugging the graphics card. I was a bit hesitant to go hands-on inside the case, but it's probably necessary. -
PC info:
MILLENIUM desktop
MM1/R5/16/1+500/2060
Nvidia RTX
Windows 10
In my defense, this is a PC bought at Darty by my partner who doesn't know anything about it, so I don't have much information about the thing ;) -
Well, a white cabbage again:
1) graphics card removed / cleaned by blowing everywhere especially on the ports (without disassembling the card elements) / reassembling the graphics card: nothing changes, I still have a "normal" startup but no signal on the screen
2) attempted startup with the graphics card removed, screen connected to the HDMI port of the motherboard to force the chipset. No change...
However, I discover that the machine is equipped with a kts lithium battery cr2032 (a backup power supply in case of power failure I suppose).
Could this possibly be related? I'm thinking about this story of residual charge, I did drain what was in the capacitors, but if there's a battery it won't be discharged in 1 minute of pressure, I imagine. -
PS: I don't have a VGA or DVI cable on hand to test these ports at the moment.

It must be this one https://www.fr.fnac.be/PC-Gamer-Millenium-MM1-Mini-AMD-Ryzen-5-16-Go-RAM-500-Go-SSD-1-To-SATA-Noir/a15120422/avis
???
On these PCs, there are at least two types of processors in AMD Ryzen 5---- but which one
If this processor is a Ryzen 5 3600 or 5600X, you do not need an external graphics card, as it has this function.
On the other hand, other versions do not have any graphics function at all... and it will never work.
So we need to know a bit more about this PC... see what is written on the invoice... or call the seller.
For your graphics card, it should work if you enter the BIOS, a fundamental function before Windows
You can also remove it and take it to a store/repair shop and ask them to see if this card works or not..??
And finally, get a simple graphics card for €100 to clear up the doubt...
Sorry, I don't see how to get out of this otherwise... without any relevant data on the hardware.
The CR2032 battery is not a battery in the traditional sense, but rather a cell that depletes over time, between 5 and 10 years, it should be 3 volts or a bit more. It is used to maintain a memory of the PC configuration... in no way a backup power supply...
You can replace it entirely to be sure, it is sold in supermarkets.. -

Usually... When you hear a short beep at startup; it means your graphics processor has been found
Otherwise, 1 long beep followed by 3 short beeps===> Graphics processor not detected... that too, is a clue...
Found does not mean it works..!!
