Hello,
I recently noticed that people receiving a call from me or saving my number see the name of my DJ business displayed (only on Android phones, I believe).
The problem is that I am also a teacher and I give my number to some of my students, and of course, I don’t want them to know about my double life.
Could you suggest a technical solution to ensure that my number displays instead of the name of my business? Is this a setting on my Google profile?
Thank you in advance for your feedback.
Simon

The reason for your problem is explained here

The issue is that by default, Google has enabled the option above on your correspondents' phones

Hello,
Unless using specific applications (for example, Google Voice), Google is not responsible: the identifier is taken because it appears in its own contacts.
There are several ways to prevent this, but none are selective and permanent, see:
https://www.moyens.net/android/3-facons-de-bloquer-votre-numero-et-de-masquer-votre-identification-de-lappelant-sur-iphone-ou-android/
The only effective way, since hiding a "professional" call number is counterproductive, is therefore a second phone number via a second phone or a dual SIM.

Hello,
What is displayed on the recipient's smartphone is what they have noted in their contacts list.
The caller does not transmit any information other than their phone number (or does not transmit it if the call is hidden).
You are therefore not responsible for what is displayed on the recipient's smartphone.
Students to whom you have given your phone number will likely see your name as they have noted it in their contacts list.

What is well conceived is clearly stated,
And the words to say it come easily.

Sorry, but you are a painter.
Of course, the phone ID can change. You are right that if I add a number in my contacts as "strawberry," "strawberry" is what will show up when they call me.
If strawberry's number is not saved on a phone but strawberry has a business, let's say a DJ business for example, listed on Google Maps with their number, it will be the business number of strawberry that will display, for example "DJ Strawberry's business."
