Hello,

I am somewhat stupid or ignorant; here it is, I have a PC running on XP.

I have a disk D: that contains a .OLD file, I would like to have some information about it.

    Hi,

    This .OLD file is simply a backup of an original file. It can be deleted without causing any damage, but it would be better to leave it. Most of the time, users wishing to modify or keep a file save it with the .OLD extension to restore it if necessary.

    yes, it's true that the old file is a backup of an original file but what is the abbreviation (o......,l...,d...)

    To delete old:

    - Go to "start"
    - Go to "all programs"
    - Go to "accessories"
    - Go to "command prompt"
    - Click on "command prompt" (A black window opens)
    - Type after "user>" this attrib c:\old +h +s (make sure there's a space between attrib and c:\old, between c:\old and +h, and between +h and +s)
    - Then, press "Enter", and check in your "C" drive if it's gone!...

      I followed the steps mentioned by Armonisos42 but it still doesn't work, in fact, here's what I get after I did everything: "File not found - C:\old"
