Ethernet hard drive password recovery

Solved

Hello,
After formatting my computer, I wanted to retrieve the data, especially the backup made on the network disk (LaCie Ethernet mini disk - 320 Gb). But I can no longer find the password that I had changed a few days before. It is no longer "admin" and "admin" as login and password.
The hard drive is connected to the computer through a Linksys router.
Data recovery companies are incredibly expensive, but the data on my external disk is (of course) essential for reinstalling my computer.
Do you have any leads to help me?

    Hello,

Lacie replied to me by email to reset the login credentials for the external drive, you need to follow what is written:

You can reset your drive by following the procedure described below:
    1. Press the Power button on your drive to turn it off (the blue light button)
    2. Then press the power button and hold it down (same button)
    3. After a few seconds (about 15s), the power indicator will blink. Release the button slowly (slowly, it's impossible, it clicks)
    4. After the button is released (about 3s), the indicator continues to blink but with a different rhythm.
    5. Press the button again and hold it down
    6. A few seconds after pressing the button for the second time, the indicator will continue to blink but with a third different rhythm. You can release it again, and this time your system will be reset.
In principle, the reset does not affect your data, but we advise you to back them up if possible before starting the procedure.

It worked for me but after several attempts (and moments of frustration): about 10 to 15 times (I didn't really count), just be patient. In my opinion, don't panic on the timer, just observe the blinking.
Then the default id and pwd are admin and admin

If I could also connect it via USB, but it was asking for the same password.
That said, I found the solution at LaCie, which has a procedure to "reset" access to the drive without losing data. You just need to use admin - admin to access the drive.
LaCie procedure: you need to hold down the power button for a few seconds, then release it slightly, then press it again. During this time, the blinking of the indicator light changes frequency.
    Thanks anyway.

      Hello,

I am facing the same problem as you.

That is to say, I have lost my administrator password and can no longer access the administration page.

I saw that you had resolved the issue, but I didn't quite understand how. For me, if I press the blue button for a few seconds, it starts to blink and then the disk turns off.

I couldn't find anything on the lacie website.

      Thank you for your help

      I appreciate it in advance,

      Best regards

        Hi,

I have the same problem as you,
except that I have never used it and it does not recognize the admin login and password.
        Did you find a solution?
        Thank you.

Hello, do you have another way to connect your hard drive (USB, Firewire...) and thus avoid the network password?

I have the same problem. New hardware and the admin password admin doesn’t work. Do you have the solution? Thank you.
