Issue with interactive PDF buttons in InDesign CC2022

Hello everyone and thank you in advance if you have a precise answer to my problem,

I regularly create interactive PDFs from InDesign with very simple buttons and action scripts like "Go to next page."

Since I installed InDesign CC2022 and the latest version of Acrobat DC, these buttons no longer work: when I hover over the button, the entire page turns white!

The same goes for PDFs created more than a year ago that worked perfectly at the time.

The links created with hyperlinks work, though… but I really don't want to deal with 40 pages of hyperlinks just to go to the next and previous pages. So I'm looking for another solution to my problem. Simply put, I just want the buttons to work. ;-)

Thank you,
F

Configuration: Macintosh / Firefox 98.0

PS: I would like to point out another oddity here: when I open the same PDF directly in Firefox, everything works perfectly. It's Acrobat that doesn't work.

Hello

I have the same problem and I confirm it comes from Acrobat.

I found a solution but it's not ideal, it just salvages the situation.

I open the buttons in Acrobat and I set the behavior to None

(Option - Behavior - None).

Hello Lopo,

thank you very much for your help.
Unfortunately, I don't quite understand how to do it:
– when I drag the Indesign file into Acrobat (Pro DC), the buttons disappear
– when I drag the interactive PDF file into Acrobat, the pages turn white when hovering over the buttons and I can't select them.

If you have a minute to give me more details, I would really appreciate it!
Thank you,
Fred

Hello

You create your interactive PDF in InDesign,
you open it in Acrobat,
you select the Interactive Media tool,
you select the button with select an object,
even if the page goes blank you can open the window by clicking on its position, in the options tab set the behavior to none,
do this for all the buttons.

I hope I was clear enough.

See you!

Hello Lopo,

thank you for taking the time to explain your methodology to me in detail. I was able to carry out the operation as you explained.

However, the result is not guaranteed on my end. It works when there is one button per page; as soon as there are two, it starts to mess up.

On some pages, it worked yesterday and it no longer works today!

But in any case, this is a lead worth exploring.
Have a good day,

Fred
