Uninstall a PRINTER UPDATE

Solved

Hello,

My HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 series printer no longer accepts my non-official HP compatible cartridges that worked perfectly before.
I think this happened after an update. How can I uninstall this latest update?

Thank you for your response.

    Hello.
There are two types of updates for printers: the drivers for Windows and the firmware, which is internal software of the printer. I think it’s the latter that is causing problems. To check if it's possible to downgrade, do this search on the internet:

    downgrade HP printer firmware.

Thank you, but is there a risk to my printer?

There is always a risk in doing this, it's up to you to decide; some manufacturers update their firmware to prevent the use of ink cartridges other than their own.

No, I was talking about the site. I know the cartridges work well.

    She no longer accepts ??

    Hi

    What do you mean?

What are you doing? What's going on?

I really doubt that an update is the cause of it.

Nothing happens when I insert my cartridges.
      They are not recognized.
I also thought I hadn't done any updates.

I highly doubt that a firmware update is the cause

A firmware update took place on January 20, 2022. These updates to the printer's internal software are intended to bring improvements, but as I mentioned earlier, they also aim to block ink cartridges that are not HP-branded. Compatible cartridge manufacturers will adapt by producing cartridges compatible with this firmware, but in the meantime, your current cartridges will not work.

Yes, it's possible that this is it, but I don't remember doing any updates. Are they automatic?

On some printers connected to the internet, it's possible.

Once again, we’re getting ripped off! We buy compatible cartridges and before we even have time to print, they’re already not compatible anymore!
