Hello everyone,
I just bought a headset with a microphone with the intention of making commented videos on YouTube (it's been on my mind for a while).
However, I'm encountering a problem: the sound from my microphone is way too low.
I, of course, checked in the control panel > Sounds > Recording > then left-click on the microphone in question > Properties > Levels, but the sound is already maxed out. I can increase the gain, which gives me a good sound level at +20dB (out of 30 max), but then there's too much hissing noise, so it's not feasible.
How can I fix this issue?
Note that my headset has 3.5mm jack connectors, and I have this motherboard: ASRock B550 Phantom Gaming 4 (I don't know if this information is useful, but just in case...)
Thanks in advance for your help, it's the last detail I need to sort out before I get started :D

After further research, it seems that this could be due to the fact that I have an integrated sound card: the Realtek ALC1200.
I'm sharing a YouTube video that explains EXACTLY my problem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ERpJUOl8UOY&list=LL2gNOdTOwxHrL1WfcW9cizg
What do you think?
I've spent several hours looking at external sound cards. Would a USB sound card costing around 20€ (to give a few examples) improve the sound of my microphone compared to the integrated sound card on my motherboard?
