On Windows 10, I uninstalled the previous version of the Aver Media software and driver using:
- the program manager
- Revo
- BCU Uninstaller

There are no traces of the software on the PC through these 3 tools.

Yet when I try to reinstall the software, Windows indicates that the software is already present.

For me, when reinstalling software, it is recommended to remove all the "remnants" of the old version with a utility like "CCleaner."
I often follow this principle.
System restore to an earlier date.
In case of persistent bugs, before you disrupt your computer, consider performing a "system restore to an earlier date" (to the time before the bug). This is the Windows terminology, aimed at returning your system to its state prior to the bug; it is risk-free and reversible, and often beneficial.
Go to "Settings," type "restore" in the search box.
In the dropdown, click on "Create a restore point."
Click on "System Properties," then "System Restore."
In the dialog box, click "Next."
Choose a date prior to the day of the bug.
Next… leave time for the calculation….
P.S.: When you want to install software or an application, it is wise to first create a restore point with a name; it will be useful in case of failure or if you change your mind about reverting to the state before the installation. Note that Windows also creates automatic restore points that you can use if needed.
