I have a speed issue with this type of emulator. For some games tested, it runs smoothly while others do not (more laggy on QVGDM). Is there any way for all games to run properly without slowdowns?
A tip found online: - set the graphics level (preset) to 3 - uncheck the "preset" box to access advanced settings - Under VU settings change VU0 from "microVU Recompiler" to "Interpreter"
If that is not enough, "play" with the settings to find ones that work better...
I don't see at all where that is. This kind of change can have positive consequences, even on games that don't work the same way? Then, yes, I have already looked into everything a bit, I see nothing and I'm not an expert on this PS2 emulator.
I'm back after a while, yes, because I took the time to set it up and it's not working, and also this emulator won’t get any better over time. There are settings I can't adjust because they are grayed out in the "emulation settings." I was excited to be able to play certain games that no longer work on current computers, but now I’m disappointed. That's it. I think there's nothing that can be done for me because from what I see, it's an emulator that was poorly designed and many players are having issues.
Everything is explained... https://pcsx2.net/getting-started.html I don't know how you found out about this software, but like anything else, you need to do a little research before installing it ;)
I got it on RomStation. I made sure to install it outside of that platform; it doesn't change anything because it's the same. Software like that is annoying to configure because I tried others like the one for GameCube, always a slowdown issue. And whether it's before or during, what difference does it make? It's about avoiding installing it? It's better to see right in front of you before reading anything to see if there's a problem or not, right?
That's exactly what I was saying, Romstation offers it for download without indicating that this software is intended for experienced users.
Check beforehand to see if the software will run properly on your machine and if the games you want are supported by the software. If you have difficulty with English, translated excerpt from the page I linked you:
"PCSX2 is not the simplest program out there, even though we try to make it as user-friendly as possible.
First, check our compatibility list. Is your game listed as playable? If not, PCSX2 does not yet support your game and you'll have to wait for a fix or try another game. If you can't find it on the list, we don't know if it works or not since it hasn't been tested!
The game runs but is slow: This is the most common problem faced by users. PCSX2 is a very resource-intensive program, especially on your processor.
