TCL p61 remote control issue

Hello, I have a remote control problem that I can't seem to resolve despite my many searches on the issue. I removed the batteries from the remote, put in new ones, and turned the television off multiple times. Still nothing; the remote control doesn't seem to have an integrated LED, so it's hard to tell what's wrong.

    Are you sure your remote control is broken?
    Do you see anything blinking on your TV when you press your remote control?
    If so, that would mean that your infrared receiver on the TV is not transmitting the commands from the remote control.
