Inserting a scroll bar in an Excel cell

Hello,
Despite all my research, I haven't found an answer to this question: is it possible to insert a scrollbar in an Excel cell to read text over multiple lines?
I have a fairly heavy table, with comments updated and added in the same cell, which increase the row height.
I would like the row height to remain fixed and reasonable, and for a scrollbar to allow me to scroll the text inside the cell.
If anyone finds the solution, I would be very grateful!
Thank you in advance for your help.
Clo.

Hello.

No, that doesn't exist.
But instead of typing your comments in the cell, why not do Right-click/Insert a comment ?

Hello, Clo.

If my first suggestion does not suit your team, there is also the option of inserting a hyperlink in your cell; this link will take you to a separate file containing your comments.
  • Depending on the content of these comments, this file can be created with Notepad, WordPad, Word, Writer, Excel, Calc, PowerPoint, Draw or any other software.
  • The big advantage is that you can manage these comment files as you wish, depending on the nature and volume of data, and you can update them outside the original Excel file.
  • The only downside, which is actually just a precaution to take, is that if the Excel workbook is copied to several people on individual computers (instead of being available on a network with shared files), all comment files must be saved in the same folder as the workbook and sent together.

It's up to you to see which setup matches your expectations and your work organization.
