Hello,

I am new to this site and I am trying to install Teams on my Mac but it is not working. The message appears when opening Teams: ''You have OS X 10.9.5. The application requires OS X 10.11 or later.''

After some research, I believe I need to upgrade to a better version than what I have. I have tried to download Mac OS Mojave but the App Store is not working; it shows, after I enter my Apple ID: ''We could not complete your order. An error occurred in the App Store. Please try again later.''

Anyway, can someone help me resolve this issue? I am not an expert in this matter, but I can manage quite well. Right now, I need a little help!

Here are some details about my machine:
MacBook Pro
Retina, 15-inch, late 2013
OS X version 10.9.5
Processor 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 16GB
Flash storage 500GB

Thanks in advance for your attention!!

    Hello,

Your Mac supports the latest version of MacOS Monterey, which is good news in itself. Keep in mind that if you decide to upgrade to Monterey, it will be a significant change because it is more than certain that your essential applications, games, and peripherals (printer, scanner, ...) needed for your daily life will have to be updated, and here are the potential issues you may encounter:
    • the update doesn’t exist: you may have to say goodbye to the application, game. If it's a peripheral, you will have to buy a newer and compatible one...
    • the update exists but it is paid
This upgrade for your Mac can therefore be financially very costly. It’s worth thinking it over and studying.

Your choice of MacOS 10.14 Mojave is a great idea because it is the last version of MacOS X that supports 32-bit encoded software, giving you a better chance of being able to use your old applications, games, peripherals, ...
But this does not negate my previous remarks about updating your applications, games, peripherals... and their potential cost!

To obtain an older version of macOS, you need to:
    - use Apple's Safari browser (and not Firefox or others)
    - go to this Apple page: How to get old versions of macOS
    - choose your macOS version in the section "Download macOS"

    Note:
When I installed Mojave on my wife's MacBook Pro, I did it using a USB flash drive with the Mojave installer.
To create this USB flash drive from my 2007 iMac, I had an issue accessing the Mojave installer through Apple’s iTunes site because Apple was refusing to let me download it since my iMac is incompatible with Mojave.
I therefore took another route to obtain Mojave:
MacWorld - How To Download Old OS X
You will find this link to Mojave:
    macOS 10.14 Mojave
Note: You must absolutely close "App Store" and use SAFARI.
