Hello to all the specialists,

I would like to ask you a question, as I couldn't find the answer online,

How is it possible to insert a line break in Google Sheets on Android?

Since there is no ctrl or alt key, when I try to go to the next line on my smartphone, it changes the cell instead of simply moving to the next line...

Thank you very much for your answer and have a great day

Arthur

Since Google Sheets is really not up to par, the trick is to copy two lines into your notes and paste them into the cell on Google Sheets on Android.

Then you can delete the spaces or the text you pasted to replace it with whatever you want.

I had the same problem and I've just found the solution, so I'm sharing it:

1. You need to position yourself in the cell containing the text,

2. add a space after the text where you want to create a line break (this step is not mandatory, but it's more convenient for manipulation on a phone)

3. Then, once the cursor is placed at the desired location, you simply need to press and hold for a few seconds with your finger at that spot.

4. A floating panel will appear (where the usual options of ''select'', ''cut'' and ''paste'' are written...).

5. You then need to press the three little dots that are part of this famous floating panel, and then in the list that appears, choose ''line break''.

And there you go! :)

Hello,

It might be a bit late, but I found a trick to do this.

I select a space (or a word, but that deletes it) and I hit the enter key (to go to the next line)

Hello,
You just need to go to the cell settings and enable wrap text.
Once you click "Enter," it will go to the next line.

Thank you very much for your response,

However, it does not answer my question about how to do Alt + Enter,

Because in my notes for example, I press Enter and it goes to the next line normally, but not in Google Sheets, which is why I asked the question.
Have a nice day.
