Choppy OBS Recording

Hello,

I regularly record with OBS, which I usually don't have issues with.

But when I record in Virtual Reality (I record the output I see on my PC screen with one eye, in order to have a readable output without the headset), the recording freezes every few seconds for half a second. It's noticeable and gives the impression of a regular lag in the recording.

My OBS configuration:
Output mode: Simple
Quality indistinguishable, large file size
Encoder: Hardware (Nvenc) (I have the choice between this one or Software x264)

My PC:
RTX 2070 (VRAM: 8 GB)
Intel Core i7 9700F 3.00 GHz (8 cores)
32 GB RAM

Everything is very smooth in-game, even with the headset. So I imagine it’s a misconfiguration on the OBS side.

Thanks in advance!

    Hello,

1° All software other than this video must be stopped.
2° Set the frame rate below 60 FPS (around 30 is preferable).
3° The bit rate should be reduced to avoid stuttering... try around 2000.
4° Preferably, do not watch immediately on the same PC.
It’s better to have another PC on the network that views the output file on the other PC.

-- Disk access speed can make a difference... the best is SSD M.2 NVMe.
    -- A 4GHz processor is somewhat better..

Here are some ideas... but well, in a forum, you can't feel anything..
