How to save and export changes with VLC?

Hello,

I would like to make a video montage, but I want the image to be reversed so that the text is displayed correctly. I managed to do this in VLC and save it. However, when I open Microsoft Photo, it shows up again as it was before, and that doesn't work for me at all!

How can I get the changes made in VLC to import into MS Photo?

Configuration: Windows / Chrome 96.0.4664.110

    Hello,

To my knowledge, VLC does not allow you to save changes made using the software's filters/effects.

Since the Windows 10/11 Photo Editor does not allow this either, you need to use another editing software.
For free, there are VSDC Free Video Editor, Shotcut, OpenShot Video Editor for example, but there are others available.

Depending on the type of video you have, Avidemux also allows you to do this (filter -> horizontal flip) for your video file if you want to use the editing tool integrated into Photos.

    Best regards

    Hello ziggurat

    Hello vero

In VLC tools, you activate your filter
    and you record
then you create a conversion profile
and you check in video codecs filters the image transformation filter
    you save your profile
    you convert
you return to tools and you deactivate the filter

    ciao ciao

    Hello,

    Thank you for your replies.

I think I will rather go for another editing software because the Windows photo editor doesn't allow me to add all the effects I would like, which aren't that elaborate after all.

    Have a nice day.
