Hello,
I just migrated from my old Windows 7 to Windows 10 Pro using software...
Since then, I can no longer access the settings windows... for example:
- right-click on the desktop > Personalize
Error message:
- right-click on the desktop > Display settings
Error message:
- right-click on "This PC" > Properties
The window with the settings logo opens and closes immediately
I have already tried methods 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 from the following link:
https://www.wintips.org/fix-ms-settings-display-this-file-does-not-have-a-program-associated-with-it-windows-10/
Method 4, which involves creating a new user, fixed the problem... or rather, the problem does not appear on the new user created. But I would like to keep my current user if possible.
In any case, I deduce that this is a user-specific issue... maybe a file association issue? But I have no idea which one....
Configuration: Windows 10 Pro / Chrome 96.0.4664.45

This file does not have an application associated with it for performing this action. Install an application or, if it is already installed, create an association on the Default Apps Settings page.

Hello.
Try restoring file associations with RSTassociation.
If that doesn’t work, perform a repair of Windows 10 without data loss (everything is kept).
Download this Microsoft tool, open the tool and follow the instructions below:
