I own an HP Z420 workstation and I can't enable TPM 2.0. Could someone please help me? Thank you.

Hello,

The HP Workstation Z420 has a TPM 1.2 chip, and so far there is no 2.0 update available. This workstation isn't that old and can still be very useful! I own one myself (version v2 with a boot block from 2013 - Ivy Bridge -, while v1 has a 2011 year - Sandy Bridge -, which cannot be modified by flashing), with a Xeon E5-2680 v2 (so Ivy Bridge) and 128GB of installed RAM! The Z420 v2 supports both Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge processors.

Regarding Microsoft Windows 11, it should be possible to install it via the ISO downloaded from M$ (a "from scratch" installation, so no upgrade possible, make sure to recover your data first!). This way we bypass the TPM 2.0 + UEFI/secure boot limitations (the Z420 has UEFI/secure boot available, not all is lost) + processor.

See you later!
