I just received a friend request on Snapchat.
Usually, it says in my contacts or by quick add, but this time it says by phone number.
How is this possible?
Do you know what that means?

    The FAQ says this
    Adding a phone number to your Snapchat account is optional, but it is useful for helping your friends find you.

    So someone who has saved your phone number (in their contacts, not necessarily in yours) found you through your number and therefore added you.
