Hello,
I received a fraudulent email and I downloaded a .pdf attachment on my Android phone. The file downloaded but did not open.
I started a security antivirus scan.
What do you advise me to do? Is there a risk?
Thank you in advance for your responses.
Configuration: Android / SamsungBrowser 14.2

Hello,
When you receive an email with an attachment (like a PDF), this file is obviously downloaded in order to be read. This does not mean that it is saved on the smartphone.
That’s what happens to me.
If I want the file to be saved, I have to do it in the email manager (Gmail) or in the reading program (Acrobat Reader).
If the file has indeed been saved, it should normally be found in the Downloads.
Also check in New files.
Also explore the main storage or the SD card, if you have one.
If you can't find it, then it hasn't been saved.
No need to look any further!

I uploaded it, but in the end I received a message saying that it could not be opened. It is not in the downloaded items, but on the mail it says 100% next to the file.
100% means that the file is downloaded 100%. If you don't have a file explorer, you can download one; I downloaded this one and I'm very satisfied. In the three little lines, you have " analyze ".
I am sending you the link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alphainventor.filemanager&hl=fr
I completely agree that the file manager you proposed is one of the best. It allows for very simple communication via wifi with other devices (tablet, computer).
But I don't see any possibility for file analysis at all. Does an antivirus need to be installed for it to be called upon?
To analyze a file, I often use an online scan with VirusTotal:
https://www.virustotal.com/gui/
if you have it installed, you should see the mention "scan" at the top right on the 3 bars regarding VirusTotal; it's a good analysis solution. Personally, I purchased the Kap solution which directly scans all the apps for me. "Good CDT."
