Hello,
My father acquired a management software called ApiSOFT in 2000 for managing his very small business (one employee). The company that came to install it actually stole from him. (Acquisition of a so-called "high-performance" computer that turned out to be "very low-end" at an exorbitant price, where he already had to change several things). LONG STORY SHORT!!!
This software was installed on WINDOWS 98.
My father uses his computer daily for this software, but has no knowledge of computers. I take care of the rest when I can. His computer just crashed, so we had to buy a new tower with VISTA. The problem is that the version Gestion huit is completely outdated. However, we managed to install the old software on VISTA; unfortunately, we cannot restore the old data (clients, suppliers, quotes, invoices, stock...) to the new installation. What should I do?????? My father is completely desperate and is tired of spending fortunes on things that are essential but not reliable at all.
Can you help me or advise me ?????
Do we need to buy the new version to install it on VISTA???? How can we restore the data saved on floppy disks, USB sticks????

You open the apisoft directory, then winapi and gestion8. You copy soco1 to a USB stick and paste it in the same place in your new directory. I lost my gestion huit CD, can you make a copy of your CD for me? I have all my apisoft keys but not this version's CD. Thank you in advance.
It would be better to install an updated API version for Vista because even if the data is recovered, you're likely to run into major issues. The update isn't very costly, and if you have doubts about the honesty of your vendor, APISOFT will suggest a certified partner nearby (we have about a hundred in France).

What are you doing to try to restore the old data?
Do you have a backup of the database before the old PC crashed?
In Gestion Huit, there is an option related to backup restoration in the administration menu. If you have a correct backup, all you need to do is create a backup method (It will allow you to specify the backup directory), and launch the data restoration option.
As for Vista, you may encounter errors when opening the software, right-click on the shortcut icon and select the option "Run as administrator".
The fact that you have Vista with an old version of Gestion Huit may cause you issues with certain functionalities.
Versions V6R1 of the range fix these problems.
