TCL 8111 soundbar micro-cuts and TV without HDMI ARC

Hello everyone,

After reading many pages and articles on the subject and not finding a solution to my problem, I would like to ask for your help. I have just acquired the TCL Ts8111 soundbar. It is connected via an optical cable to my LG 47LM615S TV (not HDMI ARC compatible). My TV is also connected via HDMI to my Freebox Revolution. I have disabled the TV's speaker output and activated the PCM output.

The problem I am encountering is that the sound coming from my soundbar has regular micro cuts (especially when switching programs, e.g., from one ad to another, from one segment of a documentary to another, etc.) and displays "PCM audio" as if it detects a new signal.

I have fiddled with the settings on my TV and my Freebox (currently my Freebox has the following characteristics: main audio output: HDMI, passthrough disabled, secondary output disabled, stereo downmix: LtRt), connected my soundbar directly to my Freebox via optical, and nothing has changed; these micro cuts are still present, and I end up not knowing where the problem could come from. Could it be an issue with the soundbar? A problem with the optical cable? A connection issue? A settings problem? In short, you understand, I need your help!

Thank you in advance for your advice,

Cédric

Hello, I had the same issue, I resolved it by going into the settings of the Internet TV box, I switched the audio output from stereo to Dolby Digital, and not a single drop-out since, but the sound can no longer be adjusted with the box remote. It's up to you to try :)
