Download WhatsApp for iPad 2 with iOS 9

According to several reports, WhatsApp can only be installed on older iPhones... (it won't appear in "Purchases" on an iPad).
=> There are other applications like Telegram (better than WhatsApp, it just lacks video calls).

With a recent iPad, you just need to select "iPhone app," search for "WhatsApp," and then initiate the download (there is no error message).

Operating system updates (iOS) are offered automatically; it's possible to check for them by going to "settings"
=> If it says you are up to date, it means it's "up to date."
=> This indicates that your iOS is considered "obsolete" by Apple
=> The latest version on the market will not install (September 2021: iOS 15).

As soon as it's in "Purchases" (a listing of all downloads):

1/ It still shows an incompatibility message; as soon as you see the word "requires," that means the application did not exist at the time of the creation of the iOS present on your device or that the previous versions of the application have been removed from the App Store (for technical reasons, I hope...).

2/ It installs and everything works wonderfully.

3/ It installs, however, without the latest versions, the application is unusable after installation!

4/ It installs but works with difficulty (frequent crashes).
