Update my Android version 2.3.5

Hello, I would like to update my Android version 2.3.5 because I can't access certain applications and updates. However, when I go to settings and then to "about phone," there is no "software update" category. So I would like to know how to proceed. Thank you in advance for your help!

    If your phone doesn't offer you an update, it's simply because your phone will never be updated again, plain and simple.
