Hello.
I wanted to verify my Windows 10 license number.
I followed the indicated procedure:
wmic path softwarelicensingservice get OA3xOriginalProductKey
I got a number = OK
Then I wanted to see with a utility: product key viewer
I don't get the same result?
How to explain?

I realize that in fact with the cmd method ... we get the original Windows 8 license (when I bought the PC).
Why does this method not provide the updated W10 license?

Thank you.

Hello,
A registry key can show you the relevant number.
In the search, type Registry, the registry editor is proposed in the next window, on the right select Run as administrator and then confirm by clicking YES.
Follow this path to display the number, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SoftwareProtectionPlatform, it will be visible in the right window.
In pictures.

Best regards.

Thank you all.
It's a bit curious: I compared it on my 2 PCs:

1) My desktop PC:

The solution > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SoftwareProtectionPlatform
Gives a key = YTMG3 ...=W10
The solution using "product key viewer" = Identical = YTMG3 ...= W10
The solution using "cmd ... wmic path softwarelicensingservice get OA3xOriginalProductKey = gives a different license = XT87G= This is the original Windows 8 key.

On my laptop:
The solution > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SoftwareProtectionPlatform
Gives a key = 37GNV...... = Original Windows 8 license
The solution using "product key viewer" = RCR82 ... = W10
The solution using "cmd ... wmic path softwarelicensingservice get OA3xOriginalProductKey = RCR82...= W10

In both cases > the same tests do not yield the same results ( W8 > W10)?
Weird!

Thank you all.
