Hello everyone,
I'm turning to you to try to find a solution to a problem that has been driving me crazy for several days, and for which I can't find any solution (!!)
The problem:
For the past few days, my laptop has been unable to connect to the Internet via my Box (SFR). While all my other devices (including other PCs) can connect just fine. My PC, on the other hand, can connect to the Internet via my phone's hotspot. So, it doesn't seem to be a hardware issue.
I can identify on my Box's network, but then it says "Limited" and I cannot access the Internet.
I should mention that this problem started at the end of last week, following what I suspect was an automatic Windows update... (otherwise, everything had been working perfectly for 5 years).
To sum up: the only device that refuses to connect to the internet via the Box is my computer. And the only network my computer can't connect to is my Box...
But this isn't viable long-term, as I do a lot of video calls!
What I have tried as a solution
On the Box side
--- Called SFR (who is "not concerned" because several devices are connected to the internet)
--- Unplugged / replugged the Box
--- Checked that no MAC filtering is enabled
--- Reset the Box to factory settings
--- Connected via Ethernet (it works perfectly, but that means working sitting on the floor against my fridge... Not very "professional" for video calls!)
On my PC side
--- Forget the Network and reconnect (checking the WEP key) ==== > I have tried this a very (too) large number of times
--- Checked that the network is set to "Private / Home" and not "Public"
--- Enabled / disabled the Wi-Fi Card
--- Updated the Wi-Fi Card driver
--- Tried to restore to a system restore point prior to the problem (the restore didn't work)
--- Ran Windows troubleshooting. It indicated "The WiFi does not have a valid IP configuration." I then tried all the manipulations with the command prompt (ipconfig / renew etc.) ==== > it didn't change anything
--- Ran the DISM tool to try to identify a corrupted Windows file (the scan is stuck at 20%)
--- Tried to restore the PC to factory settings (yes, I brought out the heavy artillery!)... on the first boot: same issue!
My configuration is as follows:
Windows 8.1
Intel Core i5-4210U CPU 1.70 GHz 2.40 GHz
RAM: 6.00 GB
Ralink Technology 802.11n Network Card
That's it, I hope I haven't forgotten any important information...
Does anyone have any idea what I can try to resolve this issue?
A huge thank you in advance to all the good souls!!!
I should specify that I don't know much about computers, but I can manage if I'm guided and/or directed to procedures to follow
Thank you very much
Marine

Hello
For a few days, my laptop has been unable to connect to the Internet via my Box (SFR)
reset the network adapters, it's in the "network and internet" settings
Run the DISM tool to try to identify a corrupted Windows file (the scan is stuck at 20%)
your pc is not healthy
the only upgrade from 8.1 is to move to win10

A thank you is appreciated.
Mark as resolved if your problem has been solved. I treat everyone informally.
Vaccinate, vaccinate, vaccinated.

Thank you very much for your reply!
I will try resetting the network cards and I will come back to post the result here.
As for the unhealthy PC, that's what I was afraid of... Even a factory reset isn't enough to "reset" the system? Do I need to switch to Win 10?
Thank you very much.
So I'm open to other ideas :)
Thank you very much
